Billy Samuel Horton

Billy Samuel Horton entered into eternal rest on June 21, 2024, surrounded by his wife and loved ones. He was born in Washington, GA on March 29, 1931 to the late Robert L. and Gladys A. Horton, and grew up in Augusta, Georgia, where he had fond memories of Kissingbower Road, Haynie Drive, and Cherokee Casino.

He is survived by his wife, Andrea L. Horton, and daughter, Sharon (Tim) Adams and sister, Mitia H. Key. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and uncle.

 He served in the Naval Reserves and Army from 1952-1956, and also worked at Savannah River Plant for two years. He retired as Manager of Mail Processing of the Augusta, Georgia Post Office in 1990 after 33 years of service. He was also a past member of the Fleming Masonic Lodge #718.

 His surviving family; grandchildren Tiffany (Samuel R.) Formby and Jennifer (Victor) Gutierrez; great grandchildren, James Gutierrez, Carolina Formby, and Samuel A. Formby; step-children Jeffrey (Kathryn) Hodges and Jason (Lynn) Hodges; step-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Hodges, James Hodges, Justin (Lexi) Hodges, Jordan Hodges, Ansleigh Hodges,; step-great grandchildren, Cash Hodges and Daisy Hodges will miss him and his clever wit dearly.

 In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated with no viewing or services. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mann-Mize Fellowship Church, 2705 Milledgeville Rd., Augusta, GA 30904, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or a charity of your choice in memory of Billy Horton.
