Brenda Ann Shellnut Nash

Brenda Ann Shellnut Nash, cherished wife, mother, and friend, passed away on Saturday, October 18th, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on Thursday, March 29th,1945, in Statesboro, GA, Brenda was a resident of Brooklet, GA, where she created a lifetime of memories with her family and friends.

Brenda was a proud graduate of the Statesboro High School Class of 1963. Soon after graduation, fate led her to meet the love of her life, Bill Nash. The couple married in 1964, embarking on a beautiful journey of 61 loving years together. Brenda and Bill built a warm and welcoming home, raising two wonderful sons, Lee and David Nash.

A devoted homemaker, Brenda was known for her selflessness, love for The Lord, and her unwavering dedication to her loved ones and her animals.

Brenda was predeceased by her loving parents, Barney W. Shellnut and Idell Smith Shellnut; brother, B. W. Shellnutt who died in World War II; sisters, Leona S. Cash of Homestead, Florida, Betty S. Manuel of Allendale, South Carolina, and Nora S. Stewart of Plano, Texas.

Her memory will forever be cherished by her husband, Bill Nash; sons, David Nash (Melanie) and Lee Nash (Jennifer); grandchildren, Chance Nash and Savannah Nash; Sister, Bobbie F. Shellnutt of Brookhaven, Georgia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 2:00PM until 3:00PM at Deal Funeral Directors.

The funeral service will follow in the Chapel of Deal Funerals at 3:00PM with Brother Harold Piet and Brother Scott Redding officiating.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Bill Long, Chance Nash, Jeff Snyder, Sammy Groover, and William Futch.

Burial will follow at Bulloch Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made in Brenda’s memory to the Leefield Baptist Church or SonLight Community Church.
