Carol M. Edwards, 77, of Statesboro, Georgia, passed away April 22, 2020 due to a long battle of Dementia.
Carol was the fun-loving daughter of Austin and Daisy Slayton born in Hartford, Connecticut and raised in Bloomfield, Connecticut.
Carol is survived by her husband of 58 years, John Edwards, a son, John and wife Suzanne Edwards of Englewood, Florida, a daughter, Sandra Edwards of Jonesborough, Tennessee, a daughter, Susan and husband Chris Uhlendorff of Statesboro, Georgia, seven grandchildren, six boys and one girl in Florida, Vermont, and New York. Carol also has 5 great-grandchildren that she adored.
She was the youngest of seven siblings; Daisy Misunas of Bloomfield, Conn; Ginny Mikalonis of Bloomfield, Conn., Dolores Beman of Southwick, Mass.; and a brother, Austin (Buzzy) Slayton in Germany. Cheryl Burbage of St. Louis, Missouri and Eldridge Slayton of Westfield Massachusetts who are deceased.
She retired at the age of 70 from the Glastonbury, CT School System. She loved to bake, garden, crochet, and bingo. She loved her dogs and always had one or more dogs by her side throughout her life. She always found the humor in life and left the impression to all that she was always smiling and laughing.
Carol will be going back to Vermont to be laid at rest next to her parents in Westfield, Vermont. Carol was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
