Howard Gary Haupt, Jr.

Howard Gary Haupt, Jr., 85, of Brooklet, GA. passed away on July 4, 2024, at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Savannah, GA. to the late Howard Gary Haupt, Sr. and Susie McKay Haupt. Howard attended Savannah High School and graduated in 1956. Immediately following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy and then spent a few years serving in the National Guard. In 2005, he and his wife, Linda Haupt moved to Brooklet, Ga. Howard was a pipefitter and worked with several companies before retiring from MacAljon in 2000. He loved spending time outdoors whether hunting, fishing or working on projects. More than anything, Howard loved spending time with his family and going on family vacations. He never met a stranger and could make friends with anyone. 

He is survived by his wife, Linda Haupt; children, Howard “Gary” Haupt, III (Donna) of Augusta, Ga, Delaine Shearouse (Thomas) of Brooklet, Ga; Steven Haupt (Susan) of Brooklet, Ga; 5 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; sister, Sue Tebeau (Billy) of Kildaire, Ga; and many nieces and nephews. 

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Brandon Shearouse, Justin Shearouse, Jon Haupt, Cameron Haupt, Barry Zeigler, and Richard Armstrong. 

Visitation will be held Monday, July 8, 2024 from 2:00-3:00 PM at Deal Funeral Directors. 

The funeral service will be held Monday, July 8, 2024 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Deal Funeral Directors with Roy Graves officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Trinity Baptist Church Cemetery.
