Johnny Lee Thomas

Statesboro, GA

Mr. Johnny Lee Thomas, age 81, passed away Tuesday February 12, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah after a brief illness. The Rockingham, N.C. native had made Statesboro his home for the past 47 years. He was employed with the city of Statesboro for 27 years. Johnny enjoyed fishing and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nilarea Thomas; three stepsons, Randy Dickerson, Richard Dickerson and Raymond Dickerson; two brothers, William Thomas and Leroy Fitzgerald.

Surviving are one son, Billy Joe Thomas (Sonja); one grandson, Wesley Thomas; one granddaughter, Cara Thomas of North Dakota; one step-son, Ronald Dickerson.

A visitation for family and friends will be held Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.

A private burial will be held at a later date.

Hodges-Moore Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
