Linda Faye Spears

Linda Faye Spears passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Ogeechee Area Hospice after a long battle with cancer. Faye was born in Savannah, Ga to the late Melvin and Frances Hughes. She grew up in Ellabell, Ga and attended Bryan County High School. After high school, she attended South College and then received her Bachelor of Science of in Nursing from Regents of New York. She was a registered nurse for 30 years and retired from St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah, Ga.

She loved to travel to the beach and the Smokey Mountains. She loved playing cards with her friends. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Frances Hughes of Ellabell, Ga.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Spears of Statesboro, Ga; two brothers, Jim Hughes of Gulf Port, MS and Larry (Ann) Hughes of Statesboro, Ga; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her very special fur baby, Brandy.

Graveside services will be held Friday, July 25, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Ash Branch Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Nick Splepstoser officiating.
