Peggy Ann Adams

November 1, 1946 — February 17, 2026

Peggy (Coleman) Adams, 79, entered peacefully into eternal rest on February 17, 2026, at Westside Health Center under the loving care of Ogeechee Hospice in Statesboro, Georgia.

Peggy was born November 1, 1946, in Paducah, Kentucky, to the late Morris Wayne Coleman and Mae Laurine Baxter Coleman. She spent most of her life in Salem, Kentucky, where she and her beloved husband of 33 years, Kenneth Adams, raised their five daughters and built a home filled with faith, love, and devotion.

Peggy was a faithful member of Lola Pentecostal Church and later Faith Pentecostal Tabernacle of Salem. Her Life was a quiet testimony of service, as she lovingly gave her time through children's, custodial, and outreach ministries, cherishing her church family deeply. She also found comfort in life's quieter joys: sewing, crocheting, journaling, coloring, and planting flowers, leaving beauty behind wherever she went.

Peggy worked 10 years for Salem Nursing Home and 17 years at Salem Food Market; she also babysat children of neighbors throughout her community. She found joy in the simple blessings of small-town life, time spent with friends, kind neighbors, and caring for those she loved, including her in-laws, Odell and Bonnie Adams.

In 2008 Peggy moved to South Carolina with her daughter Heather. Then in 2011, she and her daughter Heather moved to Georgia, making her home in Brooklet, Georgia, There, she treasured precious moments with her granddaughters, "adopted" grandchildren and her faithful companion, Rex.

She continued her walk of faith as a devoted member of Landmark Holiness Church in Brooklet, GA. Peggy was a devoted mother and a proud "Memaw," whose greatest delight was her family and church family.

She leaves behind cherished memories with her grandchildren: Andrew (Ande) Johnson, Brandon (Eva) Johnson, Kristyn (Jared) Ganze, Chloe Tawes, Brooklynn Tawes, Timothy Johnson, and Danielle Tawes; and her great-grandchildren: Wesley, Melody, Harmony, Symphony, Adalina, Anthony, Judah, Calianna, and Karissa.

Peggy is survived by her daughters: Anita (Michael) Johnson of Goshen, IN; Michelle (Jerry) Matney of Mavisdale, VA; Camilia Adams of Vermilion, OH; Kendra Adams of Mavisdale, VA; and Heather of Brooklet, GA; along with her brothers, Terry Layne (Brenda) Coleman, Daniel Morris (Sharon) Coleman, Sister-in-Laws, Pam Hartley Coleman, Diane Coleman, Judy Coleman, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Adams; grandson Matthew Stephen Johnson; brothers Jerry Wayne Coleman and Carl Truman Coleman; sister Anna Marie Coleman; and half-brother Gerry Smith.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, February 22, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Landmark Holiness Church in Brooklet, Georgia.

A second Celebration of Life will be held on March 21, 2026 from 10:00-12:00 p.m. at Boyd's Funeral Chapel in Salem, Kentucky.

Though her earthly journey has ended, her family rejoices in the promise that she is now at peace in the presence of her Savior, reunited with loved ones gone before.
