Reta A McDaniel

October 23, 1925 — July 12, 2020

Statesboro

Reta Austine McDaniel, age 94, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at her home in Statesboro, under the care of Regency SouthernCare Hospice.

She was born October 23, 1925 in Statesboro to Homer and Jessie (Ackerman) Woodcock.  She married Edgar Leon McDaniel on February 13, 1946 in Ridgeland, South Carolina.

Reta professed her life to Christ at an early age.  She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She loved working in the church and cherished praising the Lord.  Reta loved to read her bible, praying for and with others, spending time with her family, laughing and always wearing a smile on her face. She was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, mother, and friend, always thinking of others first.

As a result of her generous spirit and personality she was loved by many.  Her christian life was as beautiful as the flowers she loved so well, and her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. "To know her was to love her".

Reta leaves to cherish her loving memory, her children: Michael McDaniel, Gloria Lariscy. 6 grandchildren:  Bailey, Brandon, Chad, and Jason McDaniel, Lisa and Jennifer Lariscy, 1 great-grandchild:  Aiden Lariscy and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  She was predeceased by her son, Milton McDaniel.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
