J. Russell Glover passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Russell was born in Savannah, Georgia on December 30, 1932 to Bryan and Minerva Snodgrass Glover. After residing in Savannah for most of his life, he and his wife, Irma, relocated to Statesboro in 2003.
Russell spent his working career with Flintkote, which later became Georgia Pacific. After retiring, he enjoyed many years developing the hobbies he loved best--wood working, homing pigeon supplies, fishing and growing some of the best vegetables in the south.
Russell is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Irma Bland Glover; his daughters, Susanna Glover of Pooler and Karen Martin (John) of Statesboro; grandchildren, Jason Pinckney (Heather), Melissa Smith (Jeff), Eli Hodges and Colton Hodges; and three great-grandchildren.
A Graveside Committal is planned for Friday, August 13, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, Georgia with Jack Martin officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be given to charity of choice.
