Sharon Lynn Friend

Sharon Lynn Friend, 77, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026. Sharon lived a life defined by warmth, generosity, and a spirit that lifted everyone around her. Her smile was her signature- bright, welcoming and always ready to greet the world.

Throughout her working career, Sharon held roles ranging from greeter to manager, embracing every position with dedication and a cheerful heart. Whether she was helping a customer, supporting a coworker, or simply brightening someone's day, Sharon brought joy into every task she touched.

Her happiest hours were spent at her favorite gathering place, the "Splash in the Boro," where she joined her close-knit circle of friends known affectionately as the "Pool Hotties." Their laughter, companionship, and shared stories created memories that will be treasured forever.

Sharon's kindness extended far beyond her work and friendships. She was deeply committed to her community and was honored with the Statesboro Noon Lion's Club President's Award for her service. She was inducted into the Savanna Area Darting Association Hall of Fame, recognized for her dedication to children and her contributions to the sport of darts- an achievement that reflected both her passion and her generous spirit.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Ken, her sons, Ken Jr. and Jeff; and her daughter, Shannon Shumate. Grandchildren: Morgan, Gillian, Kaitlyn, Matthew, Tyler, and Lauren. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and countless lives touched by her kindness.

She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
