Glennis worked for more than forty years caring for residents at two local nursing homes, Statesboro Nursing Home and Heritage Inn. Surviving are her children Dan Bland (Miriam) of Valrico, Florida and Vickie Reid (David) of Statesboro; three beloved grandchildren Ashlin Baisch (Jeff) of Columbia, South Carolina, Graham Reid of Springfield, Georgia, and Tyler Reid of Statesboro; and one cherished great grandchild, Adaline Reid of Statesboro; four sisters, Vivian Colson of Savannah, Joyce Evans of Lyons, Wynell Hampton (Hubert) of Conyers and Ann Seals (Jim) of Tuttle, Oklahoma; two brothers, Alvin Hodges (Sharon) of Alamogordo, New Mexico, and Wendell Hodges (Phyllis) of Putney, Georgia. Glennis loved and prayed for many children (now adults) in Statesboro as if they were her own. Many nieces, nephews, and friends also survive. Glennis is preceded in death by her husband, Mike Bland, and two brothers, Eugene Hodges of Statesboro and Donald Hodges of Bartow, Georgia.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 17 at 10:00 in the morning at Eastside Cemetery.
