Madlyn (Pierce) Howard

April 30, 1934 — May 8, 2023

Madlyn Howard, dearly-loved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, 89, of Savannah, passed away on Monday, May 8th in Statesboro, Georgia.

Madlyn was born in Savannah, GA to George and Ola Pierce on April, 30th, 1934. She was a dedicated follower of Christ for her entire life, active in the local church, and taught Sunday school for over 25 years. She worked in support roles in the medical field starting at 18 and retired at the age 65.

Madlyn was preceded in death by her parents, George and Ola; brother, George Pierce; sister, Dorothy Pierce, and sister in-love Mary Pierce, as well as great-granddaughter Emma Rose Birchfield.

Madlyn is survived by her children, eldest daughter, Debola Gayle & Cecil Turner; sons James & Debbie Howard and David & Kim Howard, and youngest daughter Christie & Steve Birchfield,

11 grand-children, and 4 great-grandchildren as well loved nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

The celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 13th at 9am at Compassion Christian Church, 55 Al Henderson Blvd, Savannah, GA.

The family of Madlyn wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Ogeechee Area Hospice.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, that those inclined please make a donation to Ogeechee Area Hospice.
