Obituary

Orion Coughlin of Claxton, GA passed away early Wednesday morning June 24th, 2020. God blessed us with him for 16 amazing years before calling him back home. In remembrance we share with you a bit about the wonderful young man he will be remembered as.

One year at Christmas when he was about 8 all he wanted was a plant. He was the happiest little boy when he got a cactus. Our family received a cactus from one of his nurses in remembrance.

One Halloween when his sister was sick he refused to go without her.

When he made it into the elementary school talent show he played Fur Elise on the piano because his mom loved it, even though it was a super hard song.

He told jokes all the time and these jokes were so terrible you couldn't help but laugh.

When we adopted a puppy we had to go back and get the sibling because in his words "it would be like splitting him and his sister up and we just couldn't do that."

He could solve a Rubik's cube in less than 30 seconds.

He got over his fear of roller coasters so he could spend a whole weekend with dad at Six Flags

He froze during class but still chose to give his coat to a friend so she wouldn't.

When someone couldn't spell he was our very own autocorrect, only he was accurate.

He loved to tell really bad jokes that everyone found funny.

At 16 he made a conscious decision to become an organ donor because in his words "why not?, If it will help someone, it's not like I'll need them"

For his 16 birthday he didn't want a fancy car he wanted a "sensible car" so he got an old man's sedan and he loved it.

He wanted to study cyber security because "it was the closest thing to video games that could make him lots of money and he was really really good at it."

He ran over and broke something every time he mowed the lawn.

He was constantly giving of himself to his classmates, video game buddies, friends, and serving at church.

He wasn't much of a cook but he sure enjoyed making himself a bowl of cereal.

He loved finding funny videos on youtube. One of the last ones he shared with us was choosing a song to be played at his funeral; "Another one bites the dust."

Have we mentioned how terribly funny his jokes were?

That is Orion.

Much loved and greatly missed.
