Robin Stabell

March 13, 1966 — July 13, 2020

Ms. Robin Hill Stabell passed away on Monday, July 13, 2020 at East Georgia Regional Hospital located in Statesboro, Georgia.  After battling cancer, she died peacefully surrounded by her 2 beloved daughters, Lindsey and Natalie Stabell, along with her sister and her brother-in-law, Kristi and JD West.

Robin will be remembered for her devotion as a mother to her daughters, and her undying love for the outdoors, specifically the ocean.  She was a devout and faithful Christian with conservative values and beliefs.  She lived accordingly to the concept of doing unto others as you would have them do unto you, and never hesitated to give a hand to those in need through community volunteer work.

Robin was born in Marietta, Georgia on March 13, 1966 to parents Jimmy Dale Hill and Linda Kirk Hill.  She attended Kincaid Elementary School, which was situated about a mile away from her home, where she spent most of her childhood. She attended J.J. Daniel Middle School and spent the total of her high school career at Sprayberry High School, graduating in 1984.  During high school, she enjoyed being captain of the cheer squad, while also being a member of the student government.  She was nominated for homecoming court every year and participated in multiple beauty pageants during this time, and otherwise achieved winning a county championship on her high school softball team.

Following her high school graduation, she attended college at the University of Georgia, majoring in political science.  Robin attained her Bachelor of Science degree in political science after 4 years of diligent schooling, finalizing her college career in 1989.  During college, she met Edward ReidarStabell III. Upon graduating, they wed andproceeded to start and raise a family in Savannah, Georgia.  They shared many similar interests and passions, and these passions transferred to their two daughters, Lindsey and Natalie.

The majority of Robin's working career was spent as an insurance claims adjuster at Allstate.  After the birth of her first daughter Lindsey, Robin was able to accomplish much of her work from home.  Upon the birth of her second daughter Natalie, Robin decided to become a full-time nurturing mother and homemaker for her family, and temporarily parted ways with her career as an insurance claims adjuster.

During these years as a stay-at-home mother, she enjoyed caring for her two dogs, Ruby and Sophie, and spending time with her children and neighborhood friends.  She spent time coaching Lindsey's basketball team with the YMCA and involved Natalie by assigning her as the "assistant coach."  She was a reliable caretaker to many of the neighborhood children, always hosting birthday parties and UGA football parties that everyone always loved attending.

After spending the majority of her adult life in Savannah, she relocated to Statesboro, Georgia during the final 2 years of her life to remain proximately close to her daughters whom both attended Georgia Southern University.

More of Robin's passions included traveling, fishing, camping, reading, writing in her journals, writing short stories, and perhaps most importantly, making people laugh.  Robin had a profound sense of humor, and everyone always ended up laughing and smiling while in her presence.  She loved 60s, 70s, and 80s music, specifically artists like Elvis, Jimmy Buffet, Elton John, and Natalie Merchant.  Although Robin had passions for art such as writing and music, she also had a talent for visual art, such as sketching and painting.  She did not often share her visual art with others, but her talent remained undeniable.  These passions provided her with a peaceful and tranquil mind, as well as methods of artistic self-expression.

She is survived to date by her loving daughters, Lindsey and Natalie, and her sisters, Angela Hill Tatum and Kristin Hill West.  Preceding her in death was her brother, James Robert Hill, nephew, Daniel Tatum, mother, Linda Kirk Hill, and beloved father, Jimmy Dale Hill.
