William "Buddy" Cohen

September 3, 1942 ~ October 26, 2021 (age 79)

Obituary

William “Buddy” Cohen, 79, beloved husband of Vickie Cohen, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, October 26, 2021.

Buddy was a member of Rincon United Methodist Church, the John Wesley Sunday School Class, a Masonic member of Lodge #440 in Springfield, and retired from Stone Container.

Buddy was born September 3, 1942 to the late Louise Lariscy Cohen and Walter Tinley Cohen in Screven County, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother-in-law Mary Kathryn Smith, father-in-law Heber Smith, brother-in-law Drexel Duke, and sister-in-law Jerry Cohen.

Buddy is survived by his daughters Angela Cohen Roberts (Jason) and Kimberly Cohen Packer (Michael), his grandchildren Aubrey Roberts and Jackson Roberts, his brothers Thomas, Danny (Barbara) and Raymond Cohen, his sister Linda Cohen Harper (Terry), his sister-in-law Lil Smith Duke, his brother in-law Bill Smith (Norma), and by many nieces and nephews.

Buddy was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. He never met a stranger and loved his friends dearly. His two grandchildren were the light of his life; he was their hero.

The family extends a sincere thanks to Dr. Masood Ahmed and his staff for caring for him during his journey. Most people do not like going to the doctor, however Buddy always looked forward to his visits because he considered Dr. Ahmed more than a doctor, he considered him as a good friend.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 1st at 12:00 pm at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

Remembrances may be given to Rincon United Methodist Church, 107 Savannah Ave., Rincon, GA 31326 or to the memorial &/or charity of your choice.
